I won’t be overprotective for Misha, dad Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput became proud parents of a baby girl in August this year and the ‘Haider’ actor is playing a doting father to his newborn daughter. Till date, Shahid has been successful in keeping his daughter from media but he quipped that he doesn’t want to be a protective dad. Like his dad Pankaj Kapur, Shahid does not want to be an over protective father.

Speaking about his dad and bringing up Misha, Shahid on an episode of Vogue BFFs said his father was ‘bit hyper and over-protective’ and that is something he does not want to do with his baby girl. Shahid said, “I think my dad is a great guy! I don’t think a guy can be that good, to begin with. There are things about him that I think are amazing, there are things about him that I don’t want to be like that with my child,” reports IANS.

Shahid Kapoor was further quoted saying, “He is an extremely nice person and he has always been a friend to me, those are the things that I would want. But he’s a bit hyper and he’s a bit over-protective. So, those are the two things that I hope I don’t do to my child.”

Shahid also revealed about what senior Kapur told him when he got to know that Sasha would soon be entering the phase of fatherhood. Sasha said, “Actually more than a piece of advice: what my dad told me was that ‘Now, you will know all the complaints that I have always had against you’. Because the one thing my dad keeps telling me is that I don’t call him enough. And I pretty much call him almost every day! But he still always complains about the fact that ‘we don’t connect enough, we don’t spend time enough’ and finally when obviously Misha happened, he told me, ‘Now you will know what it’s like when you miss your child”.

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor, who will be next seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ begins shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’.
