Hrithik Roshan pledges to donate his eyes


Hrithik Roshan, who has portrayed the role of a blind man in his new movie, ‘Kaabil’ has pledged to donate his celebrated eyes. The superhero has signed the papers at an ophthalmologist’s hospital in Wadala. On his 43rd birthday, Hrithik Roshan visited the hospital and signed the papers.

While prepping to play blind man role for ‘Kaabil’, Hrithik had worked closely with the visually challenged and that prompted him to donate his eyes.

Hrithik pledged to donate his eyes through Dr S. Natarajan, the chairman and director of Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital. Co-incidentally, when Dr S. Natarajan saw Kaabil and asked Rakesh Roshan, if Hrithik would pledge his eyes. He was surprised to hear that Hrithik has already planned to do so.

On his 43rd birthday, Hrithik walked in to the hospital and pledged to donate his eyes.

During his visit, the actor had a long conversation with the doctor who told him about the plight of the millions who are living without vision.

Hrithik was so moved by the conversation that he agreed to be part of a campaign that promotes eye donation. The attempt will encourage a million people to donate their eyes.

Hrithik Roshan has joined a long list of Bollywood celebrities who have pledged to donate their eyes. In the past, late veteran actor Om Puri, Southern superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai are among big names who pledged their eyes.
