Hrithik has performed all his stunts in Krrish: Rakesh Roshan

Rakesh Roshan is anxiously waiting to wrap up his film and decide the date for his Rs 50 crore film, Krissh. Son, Hrithik Roshan will play the lead in this sci-fi film, which has been touted to have excellent special effects on par with Hollywood. The film is a sequel to ‘Koi...Mil Gaya’.
Director Rakesh Roshan claims that even though Krissh is a sequel, the film has its own personal distinct identity. He says “Contrary to the popular belief that sequels don’t work in India, I feel that any well-made film will work and it hardly bothers the audience if a film is related to a previous one.” The director says, “Krissh is a character who has his own identity, he is not like Superman or Spiderman. There are no special effects for Hrithik’s stunts, he has performed all of them on his own.” Rakesh Roshan claims that he has made his film according to his budget of 50 crore, but would have liked to have a bigger budget. He says “Whatever I have spent is visible onscreen. I haven’t edited anything. I make only one film every two or three years and I plan every detail in advance.”

The director has a big vision for Krissh, which is quiet evident in his budget and also the number of prints of the film. The director plans on having 800 prints of Krissh and he also wishes to release the film in Tamil and Telugu along with the Hindi version. He claims that regional films generate a huge amount of money and hence, are commercially viable. The music for the film has been composed by Rajesh Roshan, but as the load of composing all the songs in three languages was a bit too much to handle in such a short time span, the duo Salim-Sulaiman were roped in to do the background music.

Although Krissh is a sequel, only the character of Rekha as a grandmother will be repeated. The director says, “Rekha is the only link between the two films, the only character from ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ who recurs in Krissh.” Rekha will play a young grandmom in the film. Rakesh’s films have been extremely lucky for his son, Hrithik Roshan. It was Rakesh who gave Hrithik his first debut hit ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ and later revived his career with ‘Koi….Mil Gaya’. So this film is crucial for the actor’s career as he has not been seen in any other film for the last year. Rakesh also feels that direction will be a natural step for Hrithik in the future, he says “Hrithik will certainly get into direction at some point of time and currently he is helping me with the post production of Krissh.”

Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan have invested a lot of money, time and hardwork in Krissh. It is a risk that they have knowingly ventured into. Hopefully the film will do well at the box-office and will perhaps also set a precedent for sci-fi films and special effects being used in Hindi cinema. We wish them loads of luck and success for their forthcoming venture, Krissh. The film is slated to release in June.
