How disgusting: Om Puri insults Indian force, backs Pak artists
It is very shameful on our part to learn that a versatile and thoughtful artist like Om Puri is backing Pakistan and making unpleasant comment about Indian force. Undoubtedly, the film industry has been divided into two parts on the issue of Pakistani artists working in India. Like Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt and Salman Khan, Om Puri is also singing in their tune and supporting not only the Pakistani actors but also insulting the Indian army, who is shedding their blood in the border for our safety.
Om Puri has made such a insensitive remark, “Who had asked the soldiers to join the army? Who told them to pick the weapons?”
Puri further went on to say, “Do you want India-Pakistan enmity to turn like Israel and Palestine, and fight for ages? India is home to crores of Muslims, there is no point in proving them for war”.
He further said that that the Indo-Pak partition was not just the division of countries, but it also divided families.
“Several Indians have their relatives staying across the border and vice-versa, how can they fight a war with their cross-border families,” he said.
Om Puri also expressed his views regarding Pak artists working in India, “When the government is taking an action, we all should stay quiet. It hardly matters if we send back the artists from Pakistan, who are working here, or let them stay. I have been to Pakistan six times and have met people from all strata,” the 65-year-old actor said.
“I have always received love and warmth. If the Pakistani actors leave the projects they are doing here in middle, then people in India (filmmakers) will also face financial loss. Hence, this is insignificant. The actors have not come here through any illegal way. They have valid visa. But, if the government will ask them to leave, then it is different,” he said.
Om Puri’s unpleasant remark did not go well with the social media users and he was been trolled.
