How Bollywood adorns IPL

The craze of cricket and the craze of Bollywood – is what makes Indian Premiere League (IPL) one of the most sought after events every year.  Superstars of Bollywood eagerly watching the stars of cricket in action intensifies the excitement. But a treat to the eyes of millions is when the celebs get down to the field amidst the cricketers they ‘own’. Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia own Kings XI Punjab despite of their grave differences. Kolkata Knight Riders couldn’t have better owners than Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and husband Jay Mehta. The “Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re” team has been the champ in 2012 and last year as well. Another one to gather loads of attention is ‘Rajasthan Royals’ – thanks to its glamorous owner  Shilpa Shetty and hubby Raj Kundra.

It becomes only better when the IPL opening ceremony becomes a star-studded event with Bollywood’s performance. The ceremony for IPL eight season took place on Tuesday. Though it was a bit dampened by rain and Shahid nearly tumbling on the stage, the celebs did their best to make it a gala event. The evening was hosted by Saif Ali Khan and the actor made it interesting by sharing some personal aspects of his life. Saif confessed, “I played school cricket. But I don’t think I have a god’s gift kind of natural genius that my father had or all our players have.”

Anushka raised temperatures with her hot moves and the actress was as delighted as the audience to be a part of the ceremony. She later tweeted, “Fab night & What a wonderful crowd you’ve been Kolkata!!Thank U for d amazing love showered & stickin it out in d rain #IPLOpeningCeremony” Hrithik Roshan was another one to give a fantastic performance. Hrithik got to shake hands with Mamata Banerjee prior to the event. The actor expressed his joy on meeting her, “Whenever I see her smiling face, she is just full of love.”

This time IPL, got even more trilling with the little toddler who was seen out in the open for the first time. Fans couldn’t be happier when Shah Rukh brought AbRam on the field. Daddy Khan and the three kids were present to celebrate the victory of Kolkata Knight Riders over Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.  SRK admirers can expect to see more of him with family as Shah Rukh now wants “children to enjoy sports… this game and I love IPL”.
