Host Manish Paul quits ‘Mad In India’

Comedian cum host Manish Paul has walked out of the comedy show, ‘Mad In India’ in which Sunil Grover aka Guthi plays Chutki. For quite sometime, the rumor of Manish willing to opt out of the show was doing the rounds and finally, he has taken the punge and walked out of the show.

The actual reason of his quitting the show is not known but it is heard that Manisha had a fall out with the script writer. From day one, the comedy show, ‘Mad In India’ has been in the news. The show was launched by Sunil Grover after he left the show, ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ after some fall out with Kapil Sharma.

A source says, "Manish wasn’t happy with the way the scripts were working out and that’s why he has planned to move out. The makers and him have been having a lot of issues. The channel intervened and it has now been decided that March 31 will be his last day on the show. The makers want more of Sunil’s comic character (Chutki) to elevate ratings. On the other hand, Manish has also signed a new film and is going to be busy with that."

However, Manish denied quitting the show at first, "I have got fabulous reviews for playing the host. Even the show is getting great response. Our set is also different — it has the feel of Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show. It’ll take some time for the viewers to get used to it."

‘Mad In India’ was expected to give tough competition to ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ but it failed to impress the audience.

"The makers are mulling over replacing Manish or completely revamping the show. There is a strong buzz that it might see an early end," the source adds.
