Hollywood star George Clooney and wife Amal expecting twins
Hollywood actor George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney are expecting twins, the 55-year-old actor’s long-time friend Matt Damon said on Thursday. Damon, also an actor, told Entertainment Tonight Canada that George broke the news to him while they were filming a movie, and he was thrilled for the high-profile couple.
"I was working with him last fall and he pulled me aside on set and I mean, I almost started crying. I was so happy for him. And I was like, 'How far along is she?' And he goes, 'Eight weeks'," Damon said.
The babies are due in June, George and Amal confirmed to CBS show 'The Talk' host Julie Chen. The couple will become parents for the first time. The Oscar-winning actor and Amal, a prominent Lebanese-British lawyer and rights activist, got married in a lavish Italian wedding ceremony in Venice in 2014, after a whirlwind romance.
People magazine reported that Amal “has let everyone in both families know quietly and they’re all very happy.” TMZ quoted sources as saying that it is going to be a baby boy and a baby girl.
Damon praised Amal Clooney calling her “a remarkable woman” and saying George Clooney had “hit the jackpot.” He added that the couple were “going to be awesome parents, those kids are lucky.”
George Clooney is one of Hollywood’s top A-list actors and box office draws. He was earlier married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.
