Farooq Sheikh will always be remembered for his innumerable contributions to Hindi cinema and theater. He has acted in a number of Hindi movies. He has acted mainly in romantic and comedy movies. Farooq started his career as an actor in 1973 with ‘Garam Hawa’. He last appeared in 2013 in ‘Club 60’ in 2013 as Dr.Tarique.

Shatranj Ke Khiladi

The film was directed by Satyajit Ray and was released in 1977. The movie casted Farooq Sheikh as Aqueel. The movie was cast in the backdrop of 19th century when the last princely states were getting abolished. Apart from Farooq, Amjad Khan and Shabana Azmi also played pivotal roles in this movie.

Umrao Jaan

The movie was directed by Muzaffar Ali and was released in 1981. The story revealed the love between the Nawab Sultan ( Farooq Sheikh) and Amiran(Rekha) who was a courtesan. Both the actors showed amazing chemistry in the movie. Farooq was appreciated for his acting. The movie received good response from box office.

Kissi Se Na Kehna

It was a sweet romantic comedy movie in which Farooq Sheikh, Deepti Naval and Utpal Dutt acted in lead roles. The movie was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. In this movie, Utpal Dutt is father of Farook Sheikh who wants his son to marry a village girl. But Farooq already loves Deepti who is a doctor. What follows is a series of hilarious scenes as she becomes daughter in law.

Biwi Ho Toh Aisi

The movie was released in 1988 and casted Farooq Sheikh and Rekha in the lead role. The movie was a family drama which revolved around a married couple, Farooq and Rekha. Salman Khan played supporting role in this movie. It was his debut movie.

Maya Memsaab

It was a movie about extramarital affair. Farooq Sheikh played the role of Dr. Charu Das. Shahrukh Khan played the lead role in this movie.

Club 60

This was Farooq’s last movie. The movie was released in 2013. The movie revealed the story of a doctor couple who grieve the loss of their only son. The movie was too emotional and Farooq delivered a power punch performance which touched hearts.
