Here’s why Aishwarya refuses to act opposite Varun Dawan

Post motherhood, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to make a comeback with Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Jazbaa’ opposite John Abraham and Irrfan Khan but before giving her nod to the film, Ash was keen to make a comeback with Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Badlapur’ but she rejected the film despite liking the script because ‘Badlapur’ is a multi-starrer movie and Ash is not ready to start her second innings in Bollywood with a multi-starrer. ‘Badlapur’ stars Varun Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi and Yami Gautam in major roles.

Reportedly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is focusing on making a comeback with a movie as a solo lead. According to the source, "Even though Aishwarya liked the subject, she wasn't too happy knowing the fact she would be a part of an ensemble cast."

The source adds, "Also the reason why refused the role was because it had shades of grey and Aishwarya was not keen on choosing a negative role for her comeback."

In ‘Jazbaa’, Aishwarya will reportedly play a lawyer and this is the first time, the actress will play a lawyer.

‘Jazbaa’, an action packed thriller is said to go on floors in January 2015.

Sanjay Gupta is working with Ash for the first time. The film also stars John Abraham, playing the role of a gangster, Abu Salem.

According to a source, "John is very happy to work with Aishwarya. He loved the role and immediately said yes."

While John has worked with Sanjay in five films, Aishwarya is teaming with the director for the first time.

Speaking about his project, an excited John said, "I think Aishwarya and I will make a good couple. It's a great script, Sriram is a good director and I am extremely excited about it."

"Yes guys it's true. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the dynamic female lead in my action/thriller 'Jazbaa'," Gupta who directed films like ‘Kaante’, ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ tweeted.

Aishwarya finally confirms doing Sanjay’s action thriller, she said, “Yes, and Mani’s film as well. The choices are about working with these film-makers and on those subjects, because I find them exciting. I’m not giving in to the pressure and expectation of questions about what my comeback film will be”.
