Hema Malini’s godown robbed, articles worth Rs 90, 000

Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini has lodged a theft complaint at Andheri police station. Her godown at Andheri was robbed and it worth articles around Rs 90,000. Police suspected the hand of domestic help in the theft. They said that thinking the imitation jewelry also to be real, the thief fled with them also. The mobile of the suspect has been switched off since the incident.

ACP Dattatray Bhargude said, "A case of theft has been registered and we are on the lookout for the accused. Since the investigation is underway I cannot provide any details."

Hema Malini used to keep her imitation jewellery, costumes that she uses during dance shows in the godown.

In a statement to a leading daily, a police official said, "That's when he found that a few antique statues, props used in the stage shows, imitation jewellery and a few clothes have gone missing. The suspect has been working with her for a long time.”

When the actress was asked to comment on the same, she said, “Right now I do not want to comment as it was done by our own staff. The items stolen were used in shoots and shows."

The domestic help who was responsible for cleaning the Andheri godown was suspected to have committed the crime.  The theft was discovered by the manager who checked her godown on Tuesday.

In 2010, cash and jewellery worth Rs 80 lakh had gone missing from Hema’s Goregaon residence.
