Heartbroken Ravi Teja misses brother Bharath’s funeral
Despite being in the city, Telugu superstar Ravi Teja skipped brother Bharath Raju’s funeral. The only family member who attended the funeral of the 46-year-old actor was their younger brother Raghu. Ravi Teja is so devastated that he did not even see the body of his brother.
The funeral was held at the Jubilee Hills Mahaprasthanam on Sunday. The last rites of Bharath Raju was performed very hurriedly and apart from Raghu no other family members attended his last rites.
Actor Uttej, who is close to Ravi Teja, told ToI that the family is so shaken at Bharath’s death in a car accident and they could not gain courage to see the pathetic condition of his body.
The 46-year-old lost his life when speeding car crashed into a lorry that was parked on outer ring road at Kotwalguda. Bharath Raju died on the spot as his speeding car collided with the lorry.
The accident happened at 10.10pm. Bharath was driving his red Skoda sedan from Shamshabad to Gachibowli.
Bharat, who acted in a few Telugu movies, was earlier arrested by Hyderabad police for possession of cocaine.
"Due to high speed collision, Bharat died on the spot. The truck broke down and it was parked on the road side," RGI Airport inspector M Mahesh said.
According to police, the truck driver did not park the truck in the proper parking area after it suffered broke down. "We will register a case against the truck driver," the inspector said.
Police was not aware about where Bharat was coming from and where he was heading. They will also examine whether Bharath Raju was under the influence of alcohol. "We will send the viscera to Forensic Science Laboratory for examination to see if the victim had consumed alcohol," the inspector said.
Bharat's brother Ragu and their actor friend Uttej rushed to the Osmania General Hospital Mortuary where the postmortem underwent. "I am not in a condition to talk," Uttej said.
