Haryana girl Manushi Chhillar wins Femina Miss India 2017 title


Manushi Chhillar from Haryana won the coveted title of Femina Miss India 2017. Sana Dua from Jammu and Kashmir was declared the first runner-up while Priyanka Kumari from Bihar was announced the second runner-up.

Born to doctor parents, Manushi studied in St. Thomas School in Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.

In an interview before the pageant, she said: "The only thing I believe is certain in life is uncertainty and this is what is amazing about the pageant."

The sizzling event was held at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai on Sunday night. The show hosted by Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh saw electrifying performances by Sonu Nigam, Alia Bhatt, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ranbir Kapoor. The Bollywood stars added glitz and glamour to the show.

Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle, along with Bollywood stars like Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, Abhishek Kapoor, Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’Cruz among others judged the pageant.

Around 30 participants from various states of the country like Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and many others participated in the show and they were mentored by Neha Dhupia, Waluscha De Sousa, Dipannita Sharma and Parvathy Omanakuttan.

After the win, Manushi quips, "Throughout the journey I had a vision and with this came a belief, I can change the world.''

The finale of Femina Miss India 2017 will be telecast on Colors channel on July 9 from 1 pm.
