Revealed: Harbhajan Singh, Geeta Basra’s wedding trousseau

With the high-profile wedding of cricketer Harbhajan Singh and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra round the corner, ace fashion designers Raghavendra Rathore and Archana Kochhar have taken the charge of designing the wedding outfits of the couple.

Raghavendra, known for designer bandhgalas and jhodpus with royal touch, will be designing Bhajji’s outfits, while Mumbai-based couturier Archana will be working on the looks and wedding trousseaux of would-be bride Geeta.

The soon-to-be-married couple will be attired in colour-coordinated dresses.

Raghavendra will design a dark blue velvet achkan with a little embroidery for Harbhajan, which can be paired with breeches or a churidar, for the reception. The designer, however, said that Bhajji might change the order later.

For the ceremony at gurudwara, the groom will sport a peach coloured achkan with breeches or a churidar, teamed with a maroon turban. And for the sangeet ceremony, the off-spin bowler has opted for an orange kurta with black waist coat.

Archana revealed that Geeta will don a traditional red lehenga with gold pita work for the wedding. She will sport an electric blue lehenga with mirror work and sequins at the reception and for the mehendi ceremony she has opted for a lemon yellow lehenga with pink and silver embroidery.

Long time couple Harbhajan and Geeta are all set to tie the knot on October 29. The preparations are in full swing for the five-day long ceremony. The couple will be married at a private ceremony in traditional Punjabi style in Ludhiana. The wedding will be followed by a grand reception at Delhi. Celebrities from the world of cricket and Bollywood, besides other eminent persons will be attending the reception. Reportedly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been invited.
