Half Girlfriend: Arjun and Shraddha’s love blossoms in ‘Baarish’ song


The first song of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer upcoming film ‘Half Girlfriend’ is out. Titled ‘Baarish’, it is a melodious track which is sure to bring back memories of one’s college days in the minds.

The video of the song is set in the backdrop of St Stephens College, New Delhi, where Arjun and Shraddha check out their names on the admission list on the notice board. He is smitten by Shraddha and his eyes follows her everywhere - as she enjoys the rains, in the basketball court and to pubs. The video traces the blossoming of romance between Arjun’s Madhav Jha and Shraddha’s elite Delhiite Riya Somani, who belong to diametrically opposite lifestyle and culture.

The song beautifully opens with a beautiful prelude music, probably xylophone, and is rendered in the smooth vocals of Ash King and Sashaa Tirupati. The sound of thunder adds to the feel of the song. Tanishk Bagchi has composed the music and has also penned the lyrics with Arafat Mehmood.

‘Half Girlfriend’, directed by Mohit Suri, is a big screen adaption of celebrity author Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name. Chetan has also co-produced the film with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Mohit Suri.

The film’s trailer was out two days ago, on Monday, April 10, and has got phenomenal response from cine-buffs. It is one of the most awaited films of the year and is slated to hit theatres on May 19.
