‘Gold’ teaser: Akshay Kumar wins ‘Gold’ for India in hockey

The teaser of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gold’ directed by Reema Kagti was released today and it shows Bengali dhoti clad Akshay Kumar passion for hockey and how he challenged to bring Gold for India in hockey. The story is set during pre-independence era.

The 1:07-minute teaser video shows Akshay Kumar getting out of control to win the Olympic gold for India and not for British India. The year 1946 is written in golden letters in Indian history as this year marks India as an independent nation represented hockey on the world map.

Sharing the teaser of Gold on social media, Akshay wrote, “Abhi tak India chup tha. Ab hum log bolega aur duniya sunega. #GoldTeaser Out Now. @excelmovies @FarOutAkhtar @ritesh_sid @kagtireema.”

Directed by Reema Kagti of ‘Talaash’ fame, ‘Gold’ marks the Bollywood debut of TV actor Mouni Roy.

It was earlier reported that ‘Gold’ is a biopic on former hockey player Balbir Singh Sr. In an interview, producer Ritesh Sidhwani denied it being a biopic. He said, “It is not a biopic. It is a completely fictional story but it is set against a real backdrop between 1933-48 India about what the country was, the sports... About hockey. It is not based on any character.”

‘Gold’ is scheduled to hit the screens on August 15, 2018.
