Former cricketer Brett Lee to debut in Bollywood with ‘UnIndian’

Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee is all set to make his Bollywood debut. The right-arm fast bowler will be seen in ‘UnIndian’, a romantic comedy co-starring Tannishtha Chatterjee.

The cross-cultural comedy has been directed by Anupam Sharma and is about the romance between an Australian teacher and a gorgeous Indian single mother named Meera who lives in Sydney that sends the woman’s family and the Indian expat community into a tizzy.

The entertainer also stars Gulshan Grover and Supriya Pathak is pivotal roles, besides special appearances by Australian and Indian artistes including Pallavi Sharda, Akash Khurana, Tiriel More, Tammy Bartaiya and John Howard.

The movie has been produced by Anupam Sharma along with Lisa Duff and Nitika Thakur. It has been funded by Australia India Film Fund & Screen Australia and is being presented by Krian Media, which creates, produces, markets and distributes content across the world.

A ToI report quoted Krian Media founder and CEO, Ranjit Thakur as saying, “'UnIndian' is a romcom crossover film which will be loved by the Indian audience. The humour adds great value to the story and Brett is outstanding. It is different from the regular content on screen and is just the flavour we need. We are proud to be associated with this project."

The film will release across India on August 5.
