Foreign media terms Deepika’s MTV EMA look as “Bollywood blunder”

Deepika Padukone made her Hollywood red carpet debut at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday at Rotterdam, Netherlands. The actress made her appearance in a swamp green Monisha Jaising ensemble with thigh-high slit and stilettoes.

However, it seems that Deepika’s look at the event didn’t impress certain fashion critics there, as she was tagged ‘Bollywood blunder’ and was featured among the worst dressed celebs, by a popular international daily.

The Daily Mail captioned Deepika’s pictures form the event as, “Bollywood blunder: Indian actress Deepika Padukone may be stunning but her swamp green bralet and skirt combo did nothing for her sensational figure."

Notably, in March this year, the same publication failed to recognise the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress when she stepped out for dinner with tennis star Novak Djokovic in Los Angeles. The daily referred to Deepika as "leggy brunette" and "female companion" of Djokovic, and got heavily trolled by her fans, following which the publication updated the article by including Deepika’s name.

Meanwhile, Deepika, who is gearing up for the release of her Hollywood maiden film ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’, presented the Best Video Award along with co-star Nina Dobrev.

The Hollywood action movie starring Vin Diesel in the title role, is slated to release on January 20 next year.

Deepika has also began shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period film ‘Padmavati’ which also stars Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Aditi Rao Hydari.
