‘Force 2’ beats demonetisation, earns 13.55 crore on day 2
John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Force 2’ is going strong at the box-office. Unlike ‘Rock On 2’, it is not affected by Modi’s demonetization move. The film earned a promising amount of Rs Rs 6.05 crore on the opening day and collected Rs 7.5 crore on the second day, collecting Rs 13.55 crore in two days.
Made on a whopping budget of budget of Rs 45 crore, the film is expected to recover the production money very soon.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, ” #Force2 Fri ? 6.05 cr. India biz.”
Tahir Raj Bhasin, who played the role of a villain said, “Force one was about combat between two equally powerful people. Force 2 is about mind games and strategy. When they told me it’s going to be a spy fiction film, it was a dream come true, which leads me into why the negative. He is a lighter character. He has a dark sense of humour.”
The team sounded confident ahead of the release. “We are not trying to be opportunistic and cash-in on the negativity of any kind. But at the same time, it makes the film relevant as it is important to know what people who work for the country go through. You should just realise their sacrifices,” Sonakshi said in an exclusive interview with indianexpress.com.
Set in parts of China, India and Budapest, the story opens when 3 undercover RAW agents are killed in synchronized assassinations across Asia. Tough-as-nails former cop Yash (John Abraham) then sets out to nab the mastermind, who is a mole in the Indian embassy, along with female officer Kiran (Sonakshi Sinha). They are like chalk and cheese with different working styles. Rebooting and building a strong franchise for Force, its second edition will witness larger-than-life action sequences and intense performances.
