First poster: KJo’s ‘The Ghazi Attack’ is India’s first war-at-sea film

Filmmaker Karan Johar released the first look poster of India’s first war-at sea film ‘The Ghazi Attack’ on the occasion of Navy Day on Sunday, December. The film starring Rana Daggubati and Taapsee Pannu, is being jointly produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions and A.A Films of Anil Thadani.

“Dharma Productions is proud to partner with AA films for The Ghazi Attack - India's first war-at-sea film! @dharmamovies @RanaDaggubati,” Karan tweeted. The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ director also announced the release date of the movie, which is on February 17, 2017.

“#TheGhaziAttack releases in theatres on 17th February 2017 Thrilled about this one!! @apoorvamehta18 @MatineeEnt & @PVPCinema #AnilThadani,” he wrote in a subsequent tweet.

Directed by Sankalp, ‘The Ghazi Attack’ is being made in Hindia and Telugu and will also be dubbed in Tamil. The film is partly based on Sankalp’s novel ‘Blue Fish’ and the ‘Baahubali’ actor will reportedly play the role of a Naval officer.

Taapsee, who has earlier worked in Telugu language films like ‘Jhummandi Naadam’, ‘Vastadu Naa Raju’ and ‘Mr. Perfect’, also tweeted, “Finally back on Telugu screens with this special appearance. Proud to be a small part of this big film ‘The Ghazi Attack’, India’s first under water war film!”

The first look poster has the imagery of an underwater scene with a sailing submarine and the film’s title is written beneath it. The title comes with the tagline ‘The war you did not know about’ and the poster also has the release date.
