First Picture: Dilip Kumar leaves Lilavati hospital with Saira Banu


After treating Dilip Kumar by an expert team of doctors at Mumbai Lilavati hospital for about a week, the thespian was discharged from hospital. The 94-year-old was spotted in a wheelchair leaving the hospital with Saira Banu by his side.

He was admitted to the hospital on August 2nd due to kidney related disease. The actor recovered well and discharged today. He was seen in a pink shirt coming out of the hospital in a wheelchair. Saira Banu was seen in red salwar suit with dupatta on head. Saira Banu waved to the media and fans waiting outside to get a glimpse of the versatile actor. 

Before leaving the hospital, Saira Banu tweeted from Dilip Kumar's official account.

"By the grace of Allah, Dilip Sahab is under the care of Dr. Nitin Gokhale, Dr. Arun Shah of Lilavati Hospital and Sahab's personal family physicians Dr. R.C. Sharma and Dr. S. Gokhale, along with the able input of Dr. S.D. Bapat. This excellent team has given the green signal to take Sahab home today.

"My gratitude to fans, friends for prayers, doctors for expert treatment, hospital staff n Sahab's personal attendants for all the care. It is the Almighty God's will and benevolence that I wish to acknowledge in all humility and gratitude."

Last seen on the big screen in 'Qila' in 1998, the actor was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan. He has delivered blockbuster movies like 'Devdas', 'Mughal-e-Azam', 'Karma’ among others.
