First Look: Sonam Kapoor in and as ‘Neerja Bhanot’


Sonam Kapoor who has just kick-started the shooting of ‘Battle for Bittora’ with her ‘Khoobsurat co-star Fawad Khan is in the preparation mode for her next movie, ‘Neerja Bhanot’ biopic.

The actress shared a picture of herself on Twitter wearing flight attendant’s uniform carrying the name-tag that reads "N Bhanot Purser" captioning it as, "#Neerja #PanAm #flight73 #takingoff."

In ‘Neerja Bhannot’ biopic, Sonam plays a very challenging role of a senior flight attendant who was murdered while saving 360 lives on Pan Am flight, when it was hijacked in Karachi in 1986.

For her bravery, Neerja was awarded Ashok Chakra award at the age of 23.

The film will be directed by Ram Madhwani and is written by Saiwyn Quadras of ‘Mary Kom’ fame. Brave heart Neerja joined the airlines after her marriage ended. She was only married for a year when she fell victim of dowry. She was the chief flight purser on the unfortunate Pan Am flight 73 airline that was hijacked by four terrorists on September 5, 1986, when it landed in Karachi.
