First day box-office collection of ‘Revolver Rani’, ‘Kaanchi’

Friday saw the release of three films, Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Revolver Rani’, Subhash Ghai directed ‘Kaanchi’ starring Mishti and Rajeev Khandelwal starrer ‘Samrat & Co’. All the three movies are sans any established and popular stars but still they are in the news for their unique content. It is really sad to say that all the three movies had a very dull start. ‘Revolver Rani’ had occupancy of 20-25% occupancy in the morning shows. The numbers however increased in the evening shows but still it is low.

The film released in 1,500 screens in India and expected to work better on single screens compared to multiplexes.

Subhash Ghai directorial ‘Kaanchi’ had a low occupancy of only 10 percent in India. The film, starring Mishti and Kartik Tiwari, released in over 1,000 screens. The first day collection of ‘Kaanchi’ is comparatively low than ‘Revolver Rani’ due to negative reviews from critics.

‘Samrat & Co.’, starring Rajeev Khandelwal, is totally a washout due to negative reviews.

Audience will prefer Kangana’s ‘Revolver Rani’ due to its wacky content and they will also turn up for ‘Kaanchi’ as Subhash Ghai retured after five years to direction.

The essence and setting of all the three movies ‘Kanchi’, ‘Revolver Rani’ And ‘Samrat & Co.’ are totally different — ‘Revolver Rani’ produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia is set against the backdrop of the notorious Chambal area, while the detective movie ‘Samrat & Co’, featuring Rajeev as the debonair investigator, has been shot in the picturesque state of Himachal Pradesh where director Kaushik Ghatak has used VFX to make the plot more engaging. Ghai’s ‘Kaanchi’ revolved around a girl and her fight against injustice.
