"The film hurts religious sentiments and we cannot allow such a film to be released," a complainant told IANS.

The film also features Ravi Kishen and Sakshi Tanwar.

The director in his defend said that it is not the official trailer but a leaked version, “There are a few things I want to clarify — this is not the official trailer, it’s a leaked version for which we have lodged an FIR in Oshiwara (Mumbai Police) and Cyber Cell. It’s a conspiracy to malign us and the film. The version has been made in such a way that it shows as if the film is all about abuses and maligns the image of the holy city. That is not true. This is not what our film is all about,” Dwivedi clarifies.

Based on the novel Kashi Ka Assi written by Kashi Nath Singh, the film focuses on the life of a middle class family that earns its bread and butter by organising religious rituals. It also unveils the corrupts shadus and foreigners' illegal affairs.
