Filmmaker Rahul Rawail booked for abusing a 20-yr-old girl

Noted filmmaker Rahul Rawail , who helmed blockbusters like ‘Love Story’ and ‘Betaab’ has been accused of abusing a 20-year-old student, named Thiya D’Souza residing in the same complex. The fight between the girl and the filmmaker all started with a stray dog. Rahul Rawail objected Thiya giving shelter to a stray dog in the society premises as it spreads dirt and germs all around.

According to Bandra police, the brawl between Thiya D’Souza, a resident of Vaz Bungalow, Turner Road, Bandra West and Rahul turned worse when Rawail allegedly asked his driver to tactfully get rid of a stray dog from the society.

A week ago, the student has already filed a written complaint with the local police.

The CCTV footage of society compound confirmed that the dog followed Rawail’s driver outside the premises after which he went missing.

According to Thiya, on October 10, 2:30 am, when she was at her place with a few friends, suddenly Rahul and his son started banging the door violently, asking her to step out. Initially, Thiya refused to open the door, but eventually she opened. Rahul immediately stepped in and abused Thiya, for two reasons, firstly, for throwing garbage outside her window, which accumulated in his air conditioner duct, and secondly, for giving shelter to stray dog in the society’s premises. According to the girls, Rawail used derogatory language and abused Thiya with cuss words.

The Bandra Police are investigating the case and have registered an FIR against Rawail and his son under sections 452 IPC trespassing, 509 IPC act for insult the modesty of a woman and 504 IPC intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.

Denying the allegations, Rahul said,” I know that girl she stays on the first floor. All the news your saying is untrue and rubbish. In fact I have filed the complaint against her to evict her from the place because her behavior is very obnoxious. She has different men coming at different times and I stay with a family and cannot tolerate it.”
