Fawad Khan replaces Saif Ali Khan in SKF production ‘Jugalbandi’


Handsome Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has replaced Saif Ali Khan in Salman Khan’s upcoming production titled ‘Jugalbandi’, after the ‘Phantom’ actor walked out of the project.

The film to be directed by Sameer Sharma of 'Luv Shuv Tey Chiken Khurana' fame, also stars Anil Kapoor as the parallel lead. Fawad who began his Bollywood career with the 2014 film ‘Khubsoorat’ opposite Sonam Kapoor, will now bond with her father in ‘Jugalbandi’.

The movie is about the bond between two musicians. According to reports, Saif was to play a young musician based in London, while Anil is essaying a role of senior music teacher. The two strike up a friendship which eventually turns sour when their ego creeps in.

The ‘Kapoor & Sons’ actor is a musician himself and is therefore is best suited for the role.

Meanwhile, Saif had already received a signing amount of Rs 1.5 crore from the production house SKF (Salman Khan Films). When an actor leaves a projects, or if a film is shelved, the signing amount is usually returned, or is adjusted in another film. It remains to be seen whether Saif returns the amount to the producer.

Meanwhile, Saif will be next seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s period film ‘Rangoon’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut which is set to release on October 14.

Fawad will also be seen in a supporting role in Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ which stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The movie will hit theatres on October 28.
