Fawad Khan not to star in Salman Khan’s next
Following the unfortunate terror attack in Uri army camp, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Shiv Sena have once again called for a ban on Pakistani artistes working in Indian entertainment industry, particularly Bollywood.
The political party has threatened that they will not allow the release of films like ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Raees’, which stars Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan respectively.
It is perhaps, for this reason that Salman Khan’s next production to be directed by Nitin Kakkar, will not have Fawad in its cast. The ‘Filmistan’ director had earlier confirmed that the ‘Kapoor & Sons’ actor has been locked in for the yet untitled film.
But now, Nitin seems to have taken a U-turn and denied that Fawad is cast in the Salman Khan Prouction, and that the media has been spreading baseless rumours.
As per a report in DNA, Nitin was quoted saying in an interview, “Fawad Kaun? (Fawad who?) I don’t know who is spreading these rumours.” His statement is a contradiction of what he had said earlier.
Some days ago during the screening of his short film, a popular publication quoted the director as saying, “We go on floors with Fawad sometime next year. He is locked in. We are currently in the process of getting an actress on board.” The film will roll early next year when Fawad’s dates are available.
Nitin had even talked about the film’s storyline and said, “This is an urbane love story. But more than that, it’s an interesting take on relationships between a boy and a girl.”
Meanwhile, Fawad has already left India to be with his wife who is expecting the couple’s second child in October. Considering the current scenario, it is unlikely that he will come back to promote his film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ which releases on October 28.
