Siddharth debuts as singer with Alia, Fawad in 'Kapoor & Sons'

Siddharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt who are starring in Karan Johar’s production ‘Kapoor & Sons’ will be singing a song in their own voices which will be recorded and picturised next month.

The film is almost complete with only a few days’ work left. The promotional video will also be wrapped up once Siddharth is back from Scotland. The actor is abroad for the shooting of his next film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ opposite Katrina Kaif.

Alia has shown her singing prowess in A R Rahman-composed track ‘Sooha Saha’ in her film ‘Highway’ and also sung an unplugged version of ‘Samjhawaan’. Fawad is already a singer and musician. He was the lead vocalist of the rock band Entity Paradigm, which he quit before venturing into acting. The ‘Khoobsurat’ star had also learnt playing guitar, bass and drums as a teenager.

However, Siddharth will be making his debut as a singer in ‘Kapoor & Sons’. But, the film’s director Shakun Batra doesn’t expect him to go in for any kind of training as this is not serious singing. He wants to keep it casual and fun, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror.

The makers have heard a few tracks available and have also asked music directors to compose something fresh. "They are looking for a fun track with a young, energetic vibe like the film," the report quoted a source.

"Yes, currently we are in the process of locking a track. Karan has some exciting ideas for the promotional unit and I am looking forward to getting to shoot with all of them again," director Shakun confirmed.
