Fashion designer Rohit Bal arrested by Delhi police


Fashion designer Rohit Bal was arrested by Delhi police in the wee hours of Friday morning for threatening his neighbour under the influence of alcohol. He along with three others got into scuffle with neighbour in South Delhi’s defence colony. The incident took place on late Thursday night. The brawl was due to parking area.

The complainant Iqbal Singh filed an FIR against four people Lalit Kumar, Ramesh and Pramod along with Rohit Bal for forcefully entering his house, threatening him and creating ruckus. All of them were heavily drunk, Ishwar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) informed.

Following the complaint all the four of them were arrested but later released on bail.

The Delhi Police said that a case was registered under section 427 (mischief, causing damage to the amount of Rs 50), 451 (house trespass) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC. Rohit’s driver and cook were involved in the fight.

Mr Bal's spokesperson claimed that the issue was "over" now.

"It was a fight over car parking. It is over now and he (Bal) is taking rest," he said.
