Farooq Sheikh’s final journey today in the evening

The last rites of the legendary actor Farooq Sheikh will be held today in the evening. Farooq Sheikh passed away on Saturday evening in Dubai and his body will be brought to India for the funeral.

“His body will be brought here after completing the formalities in Dubai, by tomorrow afternoon, approximately at 4 pm. Then from 5 pm to 7pm the body will be kept for people to pay their last respects. And after that last rites will be performed,” Sheikh’s close friend, actor Satish Shah said.

Farooq Sheikh died at the age of 65 due to cardiac arrest in Dubai. He had been to Dubai with his family for a concert.

He is best remembered for his performances in films like ‘Garm Hava’, ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’, ‘Chashme Buddoor’ and ‘Kissi Se Na Kehna’. “He has passed away,” a family member told PTI, without disclosing any further details.

He was in Dubai for a concert when he suffered a massive stroke. He is a noted TV, film and theatre personality.  He debuted in Bollywood with ‘Garm Hava’ and delivered many hits. He was last seen playing the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s father in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and was also seen in 'Club 60'.

He also hosted popular chat show in Zee TV show “Jeena issi ka naam hai” in which he interviewed many Bollywood celebrities.

His sudden demise shocked Bollywood.
