Farhan Akhtar to go to jail for his next film


Actor-filmmaker-singer Farhan Akhtar will go behind the bars for his next film. The multifaceted talent has reportedly bagged an important role in Nikhil Advani’s upcoming production titled ‘Lucknow Central’.

The movie revolves around a man who is been sentenced life imprisonment. The movie is set in jail where Farhan will be seen in the role of a prisoner. He discovers his passion for music after being sentenced to life imprisonment. Other inmates join him and they form a band and regain their self-confidence and a reason to live.

“The film is set in a jail with music at its core. It is expected to go on floors by October end. Most of the film will be shot in Mumbai on a huge set in a studio. Farhan will be seen in a completely new avatar and the music will be composed by maestro A R Rahman,” a leading daily reported quoting sources.

The movie will be directed by Nikhil’s assistant Ranjit Tiwari and would mark his directorial debut. Along with Nikhil, Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment is expected to co-produce the film.

Meanwhile, Farhan has wrapped up the shooting of his film ‘Rock On!! 2’, the sequel of the 2008 popular film ‘Rock On!!’. Directed by Shujaat Saudagar, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai and Purab Kohli who were part of the prequel, while Shraddha Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Shashank Arora are new additions to the cast of the sequel. ‘Rock On!!2’ is slated to hit screens on November 11.
