Farah Khan to perform on stage after 25 years

Before she turned director to instruct actors on how to act, Farah Khan was telling them how to dance. Farah has been one of Bollywood’s most high profile choreographers before she transitioned into a filmmaker.  She is now ready to release her second film ‘Happy New Year’ that stars SRK, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan shah.

She has claimed that this film will be different than other heist films. The film’s cast and director Farah are set to begin a concert tour called ‘SLAM: The tour’ to promote the film. They will be performing in cities across UK, Canada and USA. They will be joined by some popular singers. The tour begins on 19th September from Houston, Texas.

But Farah is not just tagging along for the tour; she will also perform on the stage after a gap of almost 25 years. Farah confirmed the news herself. She said, "It's going to be a huge concert. I'm going to be dancing too! I will be performing at the concert and it has been 25 years since I've performed on the stage." She also revealed she will be performing with Boman Irani, her co-star from her debut film as actor, 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi'. Farah said, "I will do one dance number with Boman."

At the music launch of ‘Happy New Year’ SRK revealed that Farah Khan was one of the persons who inspired him to develop the already famous eight-pack abs look. He said, "Everyone knows that I am not a big eater. I like to be healthy and eat healthy. I am really shy on talking about this but precisely this body was needed for the film so I did that. Deepika and Farah always appreciated my effort."

Shah Rukh also jokingly recalled the memory of Farah choreographing the song 'Sada Tumne Aib Dekha' from his 1994 film 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa'. During Farah’s first film ‘Om Shanti Om’ in 2007 SRK had sported a six-pack abs look. Farah has also recently spoken out in support of Deepika after she protested to an ‘objectionable’ story about her in India’s best selling newspapers. Farah posted on her Twitter account to show her support for Deepika’s stand. It may be worth remembering that Farah’s husband was involved in an altercation with Shahrukh few years back but since then both parties have patched up to work together.
