Esha Deol’s ‘Care Of Footpath 2’ joins Oscar race, Hema Malini elated

Bollywood actress Esha Deol’s Kannada film ‘‘Care Of Footpath 2’ was the second film after Marathi film, ‘Court’ selected by the selection board to join the Oscar 2016 race. Veteran actress turned politician Hema Malini said that it was a proud moment for her.

‘Care Of Footpath 2’, directed by Guinness World Record making director Kishan Shrikanth is a sequel of the 2006 film ‘Care of Footpath’. The sequel also features actress Valika Vadhu’s girl child Avika Gor.

Hema Malini took to social media to share the good news. She wrote in a series of tweets:-

"Wonderful news which I must share with all of you! Esha's bilingual movie in Kannada and Hindi has made a lateral entry into the 2016 Oscars!

"Premiere will be in Los Angeles, USA, in October, before release in India. The movie will be released in Hollywood style with a lot of fanfare.

"All India release in November. Esha plays the role of Meera, a bold advocate fighting for justice. 1st time a Kannada film has won an Oscar entry.

"Such a proud moment for me when I heard about this honour! With this she is one step ahead of us both. Felt I must share my joy with all of you," she added.

‘Care of Footpath 2’ will release in Hindi with a new title, ‘Kill Them Young’.

Days back, ‘Court’ has been announced as India's official entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category for Oscars.
