Ekta Kapoor to impart education at Harvard University

Ekta Kapoor ventured into television first and made a mark with her daily soaps. Gradually she ventured into making films. Her first few ventures were duds at the box-office. Her films then belonged to the horror genre and were shot with her television stars. With time she started producing meaningful films and slowly got her due appreciation.

Today Balaji Telefilms is one of the most recognized production houses. It has produced films like “The Dirty Picture”, “Shootout at Lokhandwala” and “Ragini MMS”.

Now Ekta is in the news not for her films but for a different reason. She is planning to get back to her studies. Reports suggest that she has zeroed in on a course- Business development- at the prestigious Harvard University. She will be flying to the USA on the 3rd of May next year. This course is for 3 years but she will need to attend only for a month per year.

Ekta is elated at this latest development and has said that her parents Jeetendra and Shobha will look after her production house in her absence.

Ekta has two big releases lined-up for next year. One is “Shoothout at Wadala” that stars John Abraham and has been directed by Sanjay Gupta and the other is Milan Luthria’s “Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2”. The films will be releasing on the 1st of May and 8th of August respectively.

When asked in an interview about her sudden plan of getting back to school, Ekta answered, “The idea originated sometime ago. And now it has finally taken shape. I am very excited. I would love to be a student again.”

Also she plans to learn all that she can from her course of business development and then implement them in her production house to take it to the next big level. She said, “I want my company Balaji to attain the best possible growth. I have always wanted to take my knowledge to the next level.”

Her sharp business knowledge has already been seen by all in the way her production house has emerged into one of the biggest in a short span of time. Even her TV serials apart from the daily soaps, have started reflecting the tastes of the modern generation. Today Balaji Telefilms have materialized into a brand in itself and the credit for it goes to Ekta. Her determination to go to back to school to learn a few more tricks for her trade is highly appreciated by all.
