‘Ek Villain’ enters 100 crore club

Shraddha Kapoor, Sidhath Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh entered into 100 crore club. Their latest release ‘Ek Villain’ directed by Mohit Suri has touched 100 crore mark. This is Riteish’s third movie making this grand figure after ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Grand Masti’. Made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, ‘Ek Villain’ made an whopping 101.32 crore at the domestic box-office.

Released on June 27th, ‘Ek Villain’ opened with a positive review and the performance of all the star casts was applauded. The movie crossed 50 crore mark in just three days of its release. This is Sidharth’s first movie to have crossed 100 crore mark while Mohit and Shraddha’s second film after ‘Aashiqui 2’ to crore 100 crore.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#EkVillain [Week 2] Mon 2.50 cr, Tue 2.20 cr, Wed 2 cr, Thu 1.74 cr. Grand total: ? 101.32 cr nett. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER”.

Taran further tweeted, “And it’s a hat-trick for Riteish Deshmukh in ? 100 cr Club: #Housefull2 in 2012, #GrandMasti in 2013 and now, #EkVillain in 2014”.

‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ was released this week and it will surely cater audience interest but ‘Ek Villain’ has already reached the goal and anything additional will be an icing on the cake.
