Diwali: Here’s how Bollywood stars are celebrating the festival
Diwali, the festival of lights, is here and everyone is immersed in the festive spirit, exchanging sweets and gifts with family and friends and decorating homes. And our Bollywood stars are no different, who celebrate the auspicious occasion with much fervour. Here’s a look at how our Bollywood stars plan to spend this Diwali.
Aamir Khan: For the ‘Perfectionist’ of Bollywood, it is going to be double celebrations. Aamir has been receiving accolades for the trailer of his upcoming biopic ‘Dangal’, and the actor plans to celebrate the success along with Diwali. Unlike other years, this time the ‘PK’ actor will host a private party at his Bandra residence, which will be attended by his close friends and family.
Sanjay Dutt: The ‘Munna Bhai’ actor has spent the past few Diwali away from home due to his imprisonment. This time, Sanjay Dutt will perform Laxmi Puja at his home and spend time with his family, including sisters Priya and Namrata. He also plans to attend megastar Amitabh Bachchan's grand Diwali bash.
Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik is a family man and there’s no doubt about it. Like last year, the actor said he will be spending time with his grandparents, parents and sister, and some adventure with his sons Hrehaan and Hredaan. He said he might take off for a quick vacation with his kids. Hrithik is gearing up for the release of his film ‘Kaabil’ which will hit screens in January, 2017.
Deepika Padukone: Deepika will soon begin shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama ‘Padmavati’, which is likely to go on floors early November. Before that, she has taken a short break to visit her hometown Bengaluru to be with her parents and sister on Diwali. The actress is also promoting her Hollywood debut ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’.
Amitabh Bachchan: Like every year, the Bachchan family including Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya will be hosting a grand, star-studded Diwali bash at their residence Jalsa. Their’s celebration is a special one as it is an eco-friendly Diwali, while maintaining traditions, which means less of noise pollution and more lights.
Yami Gautam: The actress who will be romancing Hrithik Roshan in the upcoming film ‘Kaabil’ is also heading to her hometown Chandigarh to celebrate the festival of lights with her parents and sisters.
Farhan Akhtar: The actor-filmmaker-singer, Farhan, who is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Rock On!! 2’, will be celebrating the festival with the film’s team.
Shraddha Kapoor: Shraddha, who is also a part of ‘Rock On!!2’ is planning to celebrate Diwali with friends-turned-family – team ‘Rock On!! 2’. She will also spend a part of her day with her family and take part in the Diwali puja at home.
Tiger Shroff: Tiger, along with his parents Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff and sister Krishna, will be performing Lakshmi puja at their residence. The actor is currently shooting for Sabbir Khan’s ‘Munna Michael’, but he always makes sure to be close to his family during this festive season.
Radhika Apte: The crictically acclaimed actress last seen in ‘Parched’, will be spending a quiet Diwali. Radhika has taken off to London to be with her husband Benedict Taylor.
Viveik Oberoi: The actor recently gifted a luxury car to his father, veteran actor Suresh Oberoi. Vivek says his wife Priyanka makes beautiful ‘rangolis’ and they decorate the house and light up diyas all around. After doing the puja in the evening, they will visit relatives and friends to wish them.
Tusshar Kapoor: For Tusshar, this Diwali is special as he will be celebrating it with his son Laksshya. He will celebrate the festival with his family and also co-host their annual Diwali bash.
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan: Both the actors are currently shooting for ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’ in Singapore. Alia was in Mumbai a few days ago for her mom Soni Razdaan’s birthday, but has already left. Nonetheless, Alia and Varun will be celebrating Diwali with their crew members and co-actors in Singapore.
