‘Dhoom 3’ earns 200 crore in just 4 days

With every passing day, the box-office collection of YRF’s ‘Dhoom 3’ is touching the sky. As the film released around Christmas and New Year celebration, the film is cashing high on box-office. Fans showered immense love on the film despite ‘Dhoom 3’ has received mixed reviews from critics.  Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan starrer, ‘Dhoom 3’ collected 200 crore in just four days of it release.

Noted film critic and analyst Adarsh tweeted: So here's *Fri to Mon* total of #Dhoom3... India ? 129.32 cr + Overseas ? 73.17 cr. Worldwide total: ? 202.49 cr. MIND-BOGGLING!

Released last Friday, on Tuesday, ‘Dhoom 3’ had collected 20.14 crore with Rs 19.33 cr from Hindi version, Rs 81 lakh from Tamil and Telugu with a grand total of Rs 149.46 cr nett in India alone (excluding overseas collections).

"At the rate it is racing ahead, #Dhoom3 should cross Rs 150 cr today [Tue] and cross Rs 200 cr nett by Fri/Sat. All languages. India biz," tweeted Adarsh.

"#Dhoom3 India - Tue: Hindi ? 19.33 cr, Tamil & Telugu ? 81 lacs. Tue total: ? 20.14 cr. Grand total: ? 149.46 cr nett," he said.

The film also had a record breaking opening in Bollywood. It broke ‘Krrish 3’ opening day record.  The film crossed 100 crore mark in just 3 days of its release.

‘Dhoom 3’ also had a record breaking opening in Pakistan. The film broke the opening day record of last month released Pakitani film, ‘Waar’.  "Waar grossed Rs 11.4 million on its opening day but Dhoom 3 has surpassed that by a large margin," said Nadeem Mandviwalla, one of Pakistan's leading exhibitors and distributors.

The film is screened five times in a single day in a single screen. "There is no doubt that Dhoom 3 has been a massive hit and the reason for this is clearly Aamir Khan and the pre-release publicity for the film," Mandviwalla said. Abdul Haq, manager of Capri Cinema here, said that while Waar was released during the Eid holidays, Dhoom 3 was released on a normal weekend. "There is great interest in the film and we are getting audiences of all ages and sexes," Haq said. Mandviwalla said, "Dhoom 3's success comes at the end of a year during which Pakistani films have done well at the box office and have also been received well. "It will be interesting to see by what margin Dhoom breaks the record for the highest box office collections in Pakistan, which is held by Chennai Express with grosses of Rs 100 million."
