Unbelievable! ‘Dhoom 3’ crosses 500 crores

Yash Raj Films ‘Dhoom 3’ has created history. The film has suppressed the record of all the past blockbusters like ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Krrish 3’ and went to become the top grosser of all time. The film has earned Rs 500 crore which is first time in the history of Indian cinema.

Released on December 20, 2013, ‘Dhoom 3’ collected 501.35 crores worldwide, making Rs 351.29 in India and Rs 150.06 overseas.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "In terms of *gross BO numbers*, #Dhoom3 is the first Hindi film to cross Rs 500 cr mark *worldwide*. Creates History."

Producers Yash Raj Films said in a statement: "Dhoom: 3 continues to create history at both the Indian and overseas box office. It is now officially the first Indian film to cross Rs 500 crore worldwide."

‘Dhoom 3’ directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya is released in three languages Hindi, Telugu and Tamil and was screened at approximately 4500 screens across the country and reportedly 820 screens overseas.

‘Dhoom 3’ the third installment of the successful franchise was the last big release of 2013. Starring Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra the fim opened with a mixed reviews but highly liked by the audience. Aamir Khan plays a clown and a smart thief while Kat an acrobat, Abhishek reprises the role of inspector Jay and Uday his assistant, Ali.
