Dhanush, Amitabh, Akshara party on the set of 'Shamitabh'

Amitabh Bachchan’s latest project ‘Shamitabh’ has started grabbing attention. Big B recently revealed his look from the film in his Twitter account. It is an intense look with long hair and beard. Big B also jokingly expressed the difficulty of carrying such a look. He wrote, "'Shamitabh' in the day... its quite an effort to live with that hair all day !!"

Bachchan also wrote that the unique title has no particular meaning and will be explained in the film. ‘Shamitabh’ will be the third time Amitabh is teaming up with R. Balk after ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni Kum’. Both of their previous films were successful critically and commercially.

Apart from Big B, the film also stars Dhanush and the debutant Akshara Haasan, Kamal Hassan’s youngest daughter. The film’s music will be composed by noted composer Ilaiyaraaja.  Currently the film’s shooting is going on in full swing in Nilgiri. But the cast and crew also took some time out to have a celebration. Dhanush’s recent Tamil release ‘Vellai Illa Pattathari’ has become a hit and it was celebrated on the sets. Photos captured on the set shows Dhanush cutting the cake while Amitabh and others cheer him on.

Interestingly, both of Big B’s co-stars in the film are related to two legends from Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan. Dhanush is Rajini’s son-in –law and Akshara is the second daughter of Kamal Hassan and Sarika after Shruti Hassan. Bachchan is known to share good terms with both Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan.

Big B has also praised his two young co-actors. He wrote in his blog, “Dhanush and Akshara my colleagues, combine with me each day, with their own sensibilities and performance and the much recognised discipline of the South…There is great appreciation in my mind for them, and as we trundle along day after day, we come to know each other somewhat intensely, and particularly. More particularly!... Playfully we shout and scream at the unit, joke and indulge in light hearted banter. I crib almost every minute, abstractly of course, with crew and Balki. But no matter what the circumstances be, we all work towards completion and in the spirit of giving the best that we can."

Amitabh Bachchan also recently made his first ever Telugu film appearance in the blockbuster ‘Manam’ which stars Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, his father the late actor Nageswara Rao and his son Chaitanya. Nagarjuna said, "My father always thought of Bachchan saab as one of the finest actors we have. I thought just having him in my film would be an honour to my father's memory. When I asked him, he immediately agreed."
