‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ earns 14.06 in the first weekend


Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ released last Friday has been able to impress the audience. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Swastika Mukherjee in the lead, the film has been able to garner Rs 14.06 in the opening weekend at the box-office.

The good reviews by film critics and the audience’s positive word of mouth managed the film to earn good bucks at the box-office.

‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ based on famous fictional character detective Byomkesh Bakshy, based on Saradindu Bandyopadhyay’s well known detective story ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ is a contemporary interpretation of Calcutta during the 1940s.

Film fraternities go gaga over the film’s beauty and excellent cinematography. Zoya Akhtar tweeted, "It's one of the most beautiful films on Indian screens. I haven't seen a movie like this for a long time. Sushant Singh Rajput is great. The film is really interesting to watch. People should see it," Zoya said here on Friday after watching the film at a special screening.

"It's an experience. It's very beautiful. The cinematography is excellent. The production design is gorgeous. It is very stylistic. Dibakar is a craftsman," she added.
