Delhi businessman slaps defamation suit against Esha Gupta

A Delhi based businessman has filed defamation complaint against Bollywood actress Esha Gupta for false allegation of sexual harassment against him. The matter will be heard in the court on August 28.

"The mental agony caused to the complainant is continuing every day since close friends and colleagues are contacting him and his family on a continuous basis and expressing displeasure over the content posted by the accused," the plea said.

"....many members of the public have been expressing doubts on the integrity and moral character of the complainant believing the false and defamatory statements to be true," the plea read further.

On Saturday, Esha Gupta wrote on her social media handle that she faced a very unpleasant situation. The actress in her tweet wrote that a guy at a restaurant whom she later identified as Rohit Vig took his seat opposite her and stared at her so assiduously that she felt like the man is raping her through his eyes.

She wrote in an Instagram story, "This guy was literally raping me with his eyes.He was requested to behave thrice and then leave..then eventually 2 guards had to be around me..even the security cam can confirm this..who is this future rapist."

Esha wrote on Twitter, "If a woman like me can feel violated and unsafe in the county, then idk what girls around feel. Even with two securities around I felt getting raped... #RohitVig you’re a swine.. he deserves to rot."

She added, "Men like him, are the reason women don’t feel safe any where. You around me with your eyes and stares was enough."

The 'Rustom' actress shared an alleged picture of the accused and claimed, "ROHIT VIG- the man who thinks staring at a woman all night n (and) making her uncomfortable is ok (okay). He did not touch me or say anything. But throughout stare. Not as a fan, not Cus (because) m (I'm) an actor, but because m (I'm) a Woman. Where are we safe? Is being a woman a curse!"

She added, "It’s not about being a celeb. What a normal girl has to go through? How can a man be above the law. I was having dinner. He came much later n took the table opp us. Why is it ok for men to think it is okay."

On the work front, Esha Gupta was last seen in the film One Day: Justice Delivered with Anupam Kher.
