Deepika Padukone visits Siddhivinayak temple for 'Padmaavat'

Padmaavat’ is finally releasing on February 26th after lots of turmoil and for the good run of the perioid drama at the box-office, the leading actress of the mega-budget movie, Deepika Padukuone visited the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai.

The 31-year-old actress wore a simple white suit and proceeded to the temple premises breaking the huge crowd. Tight security was deployed and media also gathered in large number to click the actress.

‘Padmaavat’ received censor board certification after making few modifications. Four states Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana filed petition to the court to ban the film but Supreme Court rejected their plea and ordered the four states to screen ‘Padmaavat’.

"We passed an order and our orders are required to be complied by all," stressed Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.

"People can't come and say law and order problems, ban the movie. Let us not come to a state where the exhibition of a movie, despite certified by the censor board, is crippled," he said. 

Protesters led by the Karni Sena are disrupting the law and order of the state by blocking roads, burning buses, vandalizing theatres over the past few months.

The response of the court was curt.

"You create trouble and by virtue of it come to court," said Justice DY Chandrachud.

Chief Justice Misra added that experts watched the film and then censor board certified it and the movie also carried a disclaimer.

"We have no choice but to comply and we will," said Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria.

Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana had banned the film, despite censor board's nod.

Karni Sena claimed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali distorted history and hurt their religious sentiments by showing their Rani in bad light. 

The period drama stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as king Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
