Deepika Padukone nominated for Teen Choice Awards for ‘xXx...’


Deepika Padukone, who made her Hollywood debut in January this year with ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ has been nominated for Teen Choice Awards. The leggy beauty played the role of Serena Unger and it bagged her a nomination in the Choice Action Movie Actress category.

Deepika will be competing for the award with her co-stars Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose. The other actresses nominated in the same category include Gal Gadot for her superhero flick ‘Wonder Woman’, Kaya Scodelario for ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’, Michelle Rodriguez for ‘The Fate of the Furious’.

The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ will also be seen in the fourth instalment of the action franchise. This was confirmed by director D. J. Caruso himself during a Twitter conversation with a Deepika fan. He also revealed about a meeting of the team to decide the working schedules.

Deepika’s co-star Vin Diesel has also been nominated in the Choice Action Movie Actor category for his performance in ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ and ‘The Fate of the Furious’. His ‘TFOTF’ co-star Dwayne Johnson, whose movie ‘Bayatch’ marked the Hollywood debut of Priyanka Chopra, has also been nominated in the same category. Dwayne has also bagged another nomination under Choice Comedy Movie Actor for ‘Baywatch’.

Deepika and Vin Diesel starrer ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ is lead the Teen Choice 2017 film category with five nominations, followed by ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’, ‘The Fate of the Furious’ and ‘Power Rangers’, each with four nominations.

The voting for the awards will close on Thursday, June 22, and the awards will be presented at a gala function on Sunday, August 13.
