Deepika Padukone fainted on the set, advised bed rest

Extensive work has taken a toll on reigning queen Deepika Padukone’s health. The actress worked non-stop for 30 hours last weekend and following which she fainted and developed high fever the next day. A doctor was immediately called in and she was advised complete bed rest for few days.

“Last week, Deepika worked for 30 hours straight. After shooting for Farah’s film for 16 odd hours, she rushed to a dance performance she had at an award function,” says a source. She also went through a rehearsal with the team before the show. The source adds, “She was working till late on Friday (February 14) when she almost fainted. After resting for a bit, when she woke up, she had a high fever and was feeling extremely weak.”

She was advised complete bed rest.

“Deepika had a hectic weekend ahead with a magazine shoot and a brand commitment scheduled, but because she was so weak, she had no option but to stay home and rest. She doesn’t want to jeopardise any more work, which is why she is concentrating on recuperating soon,” says the source.

Deepika Padukone is extremely professional and she stretched herself beyond the limit. She is a workaholic and not willing to compromise as far as her work is concern.

Said our source, "Deepika who is a work-o-holic would usually skip his advice, take medication and head straight to the studio but this time around, she was physically drained. She had a hectic day ahead with a magazine shoot and brand commitment to keep. However she very weak and hence had no option but to stay home and rest."

The actor’s spokesperson confirmed the news saying, "Deepika health has taken a toll. The doctor has strictly advised her complete rest for couple of days."

She had a great 2013 and wanted to make even bigger this year. But health comes first and we wish the actress a speedy recovery.
