Deepika Padukone dazzles in Bangladeshi ad in Sabyasachi sari

Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone recently shot for an advertisement for Bangladeshi audience. The actress is a brand ambassador of beauty soap Lux and the commercial was based on the theme of modernity and tradition.

The ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress dazzled in the ad looking gorgeous in a beige sheer sari with golden embellishments teamed with golden sequinned sleeveless blouse designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The ace designer shared the ad on his official Instagram page with the caption, “#DeepikaPadukone @deepikapadukone in a #Sabyasachi #Sari for her new Bangladesh #Lux television commercial. Styled by @shaleenanathani #HandCraftedInIndia #TheWorldOfSabyasachi.”

The ad opens with Deepika receiving an invitation for New York Film Awards. As she prepares for the function, her dubbed Bengali voice says that people may think that she is a glamorous star but deep within she is a simple girl who carries her culture and heritage even when she goes to the most prestigious platforms in Hollywood. She is seen choosing the traditional saree over a stylish western gown for the event. As per the ad, it is the soap that helps Deepika to maintain her traditional beauty.

However, one confusing thing in the ad is that as Deepika speaks about her Hollywood film, the corresponding visual show the movie’s name as ‘New York Love’. Well, it is certainly not her debut Hollywood film and it is not confirmed if she has signed more projects in the West.

Deepika’s maiden Hollywood film opposite Vin Diesel ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ released in January, and the actress is also hobnobbing with international celebrities at prestigious international events. She was also spotted at the recently held Met Gala.

Deepika, who has replaced Katrina Kaif as brand ambassador for L’Oreal, will be representing the cosmetic brand at the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival beginning next week.
