Deepika Padukone beats ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor

At the box-office, DeePikua Padukone beats ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Anurag Kashyap’s latest release ‘Bombay Velvet’ falls flat at the box-office while last week release Soojir Sircar’s ‘Piku’ still going strong at many places of India. Despite being promoted so strongly by the leading stars and having powerful story-line, ‘Bombay Velvet’ miserably doomed at the box-office. The film has only managed to earn only Rs 5.2 crore in the opening day and trade analyst Taran Adarsh described the opening day collection of ‘Bombay Velvet’ ‘Disaster’.

The trade analyst also tweeted about fabulous box-office collection of ‘Piku’, which is made on a low budget but sparked magic at the box-office

#Piku [Week 2] Fri 3.10 cr. Grand total: ? 44.52 cr. India biz. FABULOUS!

‘Piku’ and ‘Gabbar Is Back’ proved box-office champion. Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Gabbar Is Back’ opened with a bang with 13 crore and now marching fast towards 100 crore club.

Taran Adarsh compared BV collection with Ranbir’s ‘Besharam’.

#Besharam had collected ? 21.56 cr on Day 1 [2 Oct - holiday]. #BombayVelvet has collected 1/4th of that film on Day 1 [? 5.20 cr].

He also mentioned the collection of ‘Gabbar Is Back’.

#GabbarIsBack [Week 2] Fri 2.80 cr, Sat 4.20 cr, Sun 5 cr, Mon 2.25 cr, Tue 2 cr, Wed 1.80 cr, Thu 1.65 cr. Grand total: ? 79.56 cr.

The box-office collection of ‘Bombay Velvet’ is worse than Sunny Leone’s ‘Ek Paheli Leela’.

With some quality movies lined up for release, 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' and subsequently 'Dil Dhadakne Do', little hope is seen to recover the production cost of 100 crore magnum opus ‘Bombay Velvet’.
