‘Dear Zindagi’ gets U/A with no cuts; SRK hailed for doing clean movies

Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Dear Zindagi’ has been cleared by the censor board with a U/A certificate with even a single verbal or visual cut.

Officials of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) watched the film directed by Gauri Shinde on Monday and passed as it is, without suggesting any deletion of scenes or dialogues. They described it as a wholesome family entertainer, while appreciating Shah Rukh for doing clean movies.

"There is not a single cut, verbal or visual. The censors actually said it would be a crime to cut even one shot from the film. They also singled out Shah Rukh Khan as the A-list actor with the least censorial intervention required in his films," Bollywood Hungama quoted a source close to the film as saying.

‘Dear Zindagi’ stars Alia in the role of a budding cinematographer named Kaira who is confused due to life’s complexities. Shah Rukh plays her life coach Jehangir Khan aka Jug, who guides her to gain a new perspective of life.

Gauri Shinde has also written and co-produced the film under Hope Productions, along with Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The movie also stars Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Angad Bedi and Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar, who will be seen romancing Alia at different stages.

‘Dear Zindagi’ is scheduled to release in theatres November 25.
