‘Dangal’ song ‘Dhaakad’ is all about girl power

Aamir Khan starrer much anticipated film ‘Dangal’ is out with its second song titled ‘Dhaakad’. The term ‘dhaakad’ means powerful and the song is all about girl power.

The first song ‘Haanikaarak Bapu’ that was released ahead of Children’s Day, was about Aamir, who plays the role of a wrestler, being strict with his young on-screen daughters to groom them as future wrestling champions.

‘Dhaadak’ shows the two girls, played by Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar, already taking on men in the wrestling arena and winning them with ease, as their father proudly watches them and cheers for them as they win the trophy. They have been well-trained to be invincible wrestlers. The video also shows the girls all grown up and representing the country in international wrestling championships.

The song has been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Pritam, while rapper Raftaar has lent his vocals.

‘Dangal’ is a biopic of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trained his daughters Geeta and Babita to become wrestling champions and win laurels for the country.

While Aamir portrays the role of Mahavir, newcomers Sanaya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh play the roles of the grown-up Geeta and Babita in the movie. Sakshi Tanwar plays the role of Aamir’s on-screen wife and mother of Geeta and Babita.

Directed by Nitish Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ will hit theatres on December 23.
