Dancing diva Madhuri turns a year older

Madhuri Dixit, the dhak-dhak lady who ruled the silver screen in 90’s with her million-dollar smile, mind-blowing performances and daring act celebrated her 45th birthday today. Apart from acting, she has been a fantastic dancer, she is a trained kathak dancer and ablazed the silver screen with blend of acting and dance.

Born to a Marathi Brahmin family in Mumbai to Shankar and Snehlata Dixit, she attended Divine Child High School and graduated with microbiology from Mumbai University. Madhuri debuted with ‘Abodh’ in 1984 opposite Bengali star Taposh Pal. Though the film did not fared well, Madhuri was noticed for her act and dancing skill.

She received worldwide recognisition with the film, ‘Tezaab’ in 1988. Her ‘Ek Do Teen’ act made the dahk-dhak lady the darling of millions hearts. Then there’s no looking back for Madhuri. Post ‘Tezaab’, she is flooded with films which won her many awards.

‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Prem Pratigya’, ‘Parindaa’, ‘Kishan Kanhaiya’, ‘Dil’, ‘Deewana Mujsa Nahin’, ‘Saajan’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Beta’, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’, ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’, ‘Devdas’ etc are the never ending list that Madhuri associated with.  In the long tenure of her filmy career, the diva worked with many promising directors and actors.

Famous painter late MF Hussain has been a great admirer of Madhuri. When someone talk of beauty and smile, Madhuri’s name always gets special mention. In 2008, she was honored with Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian cinema.

Madhuri Dixit injured many hearts when she married to Denver based cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Sriram Nene on 17 October 1999. She chose marriage over acting and almost bade good-bye to acting to concentrate on her family. After marriage and the birth of her two sons, Arin (born in March 2003) and Raayan (born in March 2005), the diva almost disappeared from the silver screen. Family became her topmost priority. She got busy in bringing up her two sons.

Though she was away from her homeland and Bollywood for long years, acting was always in Madhuri’s heart. In 2007, she retuned to silver screen with 'Aaja Nachle'. Unfortunately, the film could not do well at the box-office.

Madhuri ventured into TV in 2011 as a judge on the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 4’ with other co-judges Malaika Arora Khan and Rema D’Souza.

In 2011, Madhuri shifted her base from Denver to Mumbai after staying there for a decade with her family.

No sooner she landed in India; she was approached by many renowned filmmakers.

We will get to see the dancing diva in ‘Dekh Ishqiya’ and ‘Gulab Gang’. Madhuri is undoubtedly the most beautiful woman in the world. She is a successful actress, a dutiful wife, a loving mother and above all a wonderful person.
