But the film has also created a small problem. Cosmetics majors Emami have filed a case against Rakesh Roshan's production company Filmkraft, for illegal infringement of contract...
...Emami has alleged that the Roshans failed to fulfill an endorsement contract, which the company had entered into over Koi Mil Gaya. According to the complaint, the Roshan had allegedly approached Emami for a in-film marketing tie up for a sum of Rs. 12 lakhs. Emami had signed the deal with the Roshans according to which, Emami products would be endorsed by the characters and the brand would be prominently featured in the film. The film was to have a scene where Preity Zinta is shown using Emami products in a beauty parlor while other Emami products are placed around her. The parlor too was to be named after Emami. However, when the film released, Emami officials discovered that this scene was not incorporated in the film. As a result, they have filed a case in a Mumbai court. Roshans are yet to receive a legal notice to the effect. The case will be up for hearing in February 2004.
