‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’: Kapil breaks his silence on Gutthi

Kapil breaks all speculations about Gutthi aka Sunil Grover and takes to Twitter to talk about him.

‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ is a comedy show which is hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma. The show also invites celebrities and holds a light hearted chat with them. Kapil Sharma aka Bittu, Sunil Grover or Gutthi as his character is known, former cricketer Navjot Singh Siddhu, Sumona Chakravarti or Mrs Bittu and Ali Asgar as Dolly are few people who have been constant with the show. They are the permanent casts of the show.

Among them, Gutthi is the most popular character among viewers. His comic timing and his portrayal of a naïve Punjabi girl’s character are simply loved by the viewers. Sunil Grover was also essaying other characters. But the growing popularity of ‘Gutthi’ made him to concentrate only on this particular character.

This led to developing insecurity in Kapil and hence a rift developed between Sunil and Kapil. Then Sunil demanded a hike in his package which was not accepted by the makers of the show. Kapil produces the show. Hence, Sunil quit the show. As of now the reason given is that Sunil had prior commitments. It seems he would agree to return on the show only if his package is increased.

After this incidence, rumors started doing its rounds. To settle the matter, Kapil took to social networking site Twitter to speak. He wrote, “I love sunil n guthi.dey r always welcome in d show. I can js request him.cnt force him..Bt wtever.. I love him.. Pls dnt spread rumours (sic).”

Well apart from this, Sunil Grover will be seen shortly anchoring Zee TV’s annual Zee Rishtey Awards.

The show is inspired by a British show ‘The Kumars at No. 42’. The show is aired on Colors Entertainment. It is produced under K9 productions which is Kapil’s in house production unit. It went on air on June 22nd 2013 and instantly became a hit. The show is aired on a weekly basis. Earlier it was telecasted biweekly. At one time, the show became the most popular non fictional show gathering viewership greater that ‘Bigg Boss’ and even ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.

Lots of celebrities have visited the show in order to promote their upcoming movies. The show has received awards of Best Actor (Kapil) and Best Serial from Indian Television Academy Awards 2013.
